Read through your recommended coaches profiles to learn more about their coaching style, experience and qualifications. From the profile page, you can message and book a coach for a specified number of training sessions. All sessions booked through CoachOut are covered by the CoachOut money back guarantee to ensure that you have a great experience.
After payment, you’ll confirm the date, time and location of your first training session with your coach. Now comes the fun part - have your first session, receive feedback from them, leave a review for your coach and continue training to reach your goals.
Can I contact a coach before booking a session?+
We understand that sometimes photos, reviews and profile info aren’t enough. If you would like to contact a coach before paying for sessions, send a message by clicking the "Ask me a question" button on the coach’s profile page. Your message will be emailed to the coach and his or her response will be emailed back to you.
To ensure the safety of our community, we monitor and review all messages to remove spam and any other harmful information, as well as premature contact details. Only when sessions are paid for will you receive each other’s contact info.

How much does it cost to book training sessions?+
Coaches set their own rates on CoachOut so pricing varies based on the coach you choose; a coach's pricing can be found on his or her profile page.
A one-time only Finder's Fee of £15.00 applies only to your first booking with a new coach and is not charged if the athlete has been referred to CoachOut by the coach.

How do I pay for training sessions?+
We accept all major credit/debit cards including Visa & MasterCard and payments are processed via Paypal. Select "Book Me" from the coach’s profile page and you will be prompted to enter your card information on the last page of the checkout process.
We do not accept payments via cash or cheque. Our transactions are processed online to ensure safe, secure transfer of payment to your coach - and to automatically apply CoachOut's money-back guarantee in the event that you are not satisfied with your session.
What is CoachOut's cancellation policy?+
If an athlete needs to cancel a scheduled session, they must provide the coach with at least 48 hours advance notice. If the coach does not receive that 24 hour advance cancellation notice, the coach may, at his or her discretion, mark that session complete and receive payment in full.

Whether it be due to scheduling conflicts, difficulty finding a location or it's just not the best fit, sometimes clients need to cancel their sessions. If that's the case, we encourage our coaches to send us an email at email@example.com and let us know that their client needs a refund — we'll take care of it right away.

Are there any coach guidelines and expectations?+
Yes, in order to provide a great experience for CoachOut clients, we require coaches to:
Reply to client messages within 48 hrs
Respond to Booking Requests within 24 hours (“Accept” or “Decline”)
Contact clients promptly upon confirmation of booking
Show up on time (or early) for scheduled sessions
Maintain active communication with clients who have booked sessions
Keep availability and location up to date
Provide clients with at least 24 hours notice in the event of a cancellation
For the safety and integrity of our community, we do not allow:
Exchange of direct contact information before a booking takes place
Accepting payment from CoachOut clients outside of the platform
Encouraging CoachOut clients to book sessions with you outside of CoachOut
Marking training sessions complete that have not taken place
Unprofessional communication or behaviour
Falsification of personal information
Providing a client experience that falls short of CoachOut standards
Please be aware: Any coach who fails to comply with the above requirements will be suspended from CoachOut. We enforce our guidelines and expectations to ensure that all CoachOut clients receive a great experience and to maintain the integrity of our community.
Are there any fees involved to be a CoachOut coach?+
There are no fees to sign up to CoachOut, however, we do take a small commission from each session based upon your coach score. Commission will never exceed 10% per session. This commission enables us to run the platform and offer you the best possible user experience.
Can clients contact me before booking sessions?+
When a potential client sends you a message, CoachOut will send their message directly to your email (as well as notify you via text message alert and push notification, if you have enabled these options).
Please be sure to respond within 24 hours. This is your opportunity to explain why you're the right coach to meet the client’s needs and to answer any questions he or she may have. Responding is simple: reply directly to the email message or visit the messages section on your coach dashboard.
Your direct contact information will be released only to clients who have booked a session with you through CoachOut. You won't be able to send phone numbers, emails or links through the messaging system until the client makes a booking with you. The main intention of this policy is to protect the privacy of coaches and clients. If a client requests to speak directly with you by phone or email before they book sessions, we suggest reminding them of this policy and offering to answer any questions they have through the messaging system.
When a new client books sessions, you’ll receive an email prompting you to Accept or Decline the booking request within 24 hours. Once you Accept, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the client’s phone number and additional details about the booking. At that point, you can reach out to your client to confirm the date, time and location of your first training session. You can then officially schedule the session through CoachOut.
Am I responsible for providing a location or facility for my coaching sessions?+
Yes, our coaches are responsible for finding a facility or location for their coaching sessions. Sometimes a client will suggest a facility/location that is a convenient option. Coaches are welcome to train at a location of the client's choosing. However, in most cases, clients expect the coach to provide a training location.
We completely understand that securing a facility is one of the biggest obstacles to conducting a great coaching session. As a result, we're working hard to compile a list of recommended facilities and venues to offer discounted access in the near future.
In the meantime, we recommend that you find a local sports centre, field or facility that can accommodate sessions (asking other coaches in your area or searching for facilities on the internet will definitely help you).
We recommend that you specify in your profile whether facility fees are included in your session rates. Many coaches on CoachOut have found it effective to include facility fees in their rates to compensate for additional costs. Another option is to specify that clients will have to pay a fee directly to the facility at the time of the session
Becoming A CoachOut Coach
How do I become a CoachOut coach?+
If you’re interested in becoming a CoachOut Coach, please visit our 'sign-up page' — the sign-up process is quick and easy. After you submit your application, our team will take a close look at it. Once your application has been reviewed, you’ll receive an email message letting you know either that your profile has been approved or that we need more information before we can approve it. The approval message will give you instructions for signing in to your account and setting up a brilliant profile. Of course, we cannot accept applicants whose coaching experience does not measure up to our standards.
I am currently located outside the UK, can I become a CoachOut coach?+
We love that you're interested in joining CoachOut, however, right now we operate solely in the United Kingdom. We're growing quickly and our hope is to expand internationally in the future. Until then, please keep tabs on our progress by following us on social media. We look forward to having you join our platform as a coach in the future!
Can I coach more than one sport on CoachOut?+
Yes, you can create a new profile for each sport you wish to coach.
Managing Your Coaching Business
How do I grow my business through CoachOut?+
Here are four important steps you should take to make the most of CoachOut:
1. Make sure your profile is 100% complete
When you visit your dashboard, you’ll be prompted to take a few extra steps to complete your profile, each of which will earn you some extra ‘Coach Score’ points. The “Profile Completion” bar will let you know how close you are to reaching 100% profile completeness. Coaches who reach 100% see a significant boost in leads and bookings!
2. Review your pricing and availability
Visit the "Set Pricing" tab on your CoachOut dashboard to set your session rates and package sizing - you can edit your pricing at any time (remember to review our fee structure and set your rates accordingly). Also, visit the "Availability" tab to double check that your availability is accurate and up to date (we recommend doing this weekly as you get booked up)
3. Share and promote your profile
Invite clients (outside of CoachOut) to book your services through our website.
Get CoachOut gear and business cards to help spread the word. (CoachOut store coming soon)
Share the link to your CoachOut profile on social media to grow awareness.
Be creative. If you have any ideas for marketing your profile, go for it!
4. Respond promptly to messages and job leads.
Responding to potential clients within 24 hours will significantly increase the likelihood that they’ll select you as their coach. Good communication skills are key to being a good coach, set a good example early! We'll send you an email when you receive a new message or job lead, so keep an eye out. Responding is simple: reply directly to the email or visit your "Inbox" on the website.
A client sent me a message, how do I reply?
You can respond to a client’s message through your CoachOut Inbox or by simply replying to the email containing the client’s message.
It is important to respond promptly to not only provide a great experience for the client, but to also increase the potential success of your business.
The quicker you reply to your clients, the more likely they will book sessions with you. Also, your Fast Response Rate will increase, improving your position in the search results thus making your profile visible to more people.
I received a booking request. Now what?+
When you receive a new Booking Request, you have a few options. You may:
Accept the Booking Request ASAP - you’ll have 24 hours to respond, but reply quickly to ensure the best experience for the client. Upon accepting, call the client to discuss their goals and session logistics.
Decline the Booking Request within 24 hours if you can't work with the client for some reason.
If you’d like to know more details before you Accept the Booking Request, promptly message the client via your inbox; await their response, but keep in mind that the Booking Request will expire 24 hours from when it was submitted.
Overall, the most important thing is to Accept or Decline the client’s Booking Request before it expires (24 hours after it’s submitted).
If you choose to Accept a booking request from a client, it is your responsibility to then get in touch with them (once you Accept their Booking Request, we will automatically send you the client's phone number so you can get in touch).
It is recommended that you try to go over your client or groups goals and expectations before the first session takes place. If you aren't able to do so before the session, try to spend a little time going over their goals at the beginning of their first session.
After the session takes place, remember to mark it as “complete” in your dashboard — this will let us know that you're ready to receive payment for that session.
Why is it important to schedule sessions using CoachOut\'s scheduling tool?+
It is important to schedule sessions in advance using CoachOut's scheduling tool for several reasons:
Scheduling your sessions in your dashboard will reduce the possibility of any miscommunication. Everyone will be on the same page for when and where the session will take place.
If you schedule your sessions through your dashboard, we will automatically send you and your client reminders leading up to an upcoming session.
If you or your client runs into any issues and needs to contact CoachOut, we’ll have a record of the scheduled session, which will allow us to provide the best assistance possible.
After a client's booking has been confirmed, the next step is to coordinate with the client to determine the date, time and location of the session. You can then schedule the session from the "Sessions" tab in your dashboard
I completed a session with a client. What happens now?+
Once a session has taken place, it is the coach’s responsibility to confirm that the session has been completed. You can do this from the sessions tab on your dashboard.
Please be aware that you should only mark a session as ‘complete’ after the session occurs.
After a session is marked complete, a few things will happen simultaneously:
Your client will receive your feedback on how the session went and what they need to keep working on
The client will have an opportunity to leave you a review for your profile, if they haven't done so already
Your Coach Score increases by 10 points, giving your profile a higher rank in CoachOut's search results
CoachOut will issue your payment 48 hours after you mark each session complete; the payment will then arrive in your bank account 1-2 business days after payment is issued

How do I customise my session rates and duration?+
This is initially done on sign up. However, if you want to amend your rates or duration you can do this via the Coach Dashboard by clicking on Edit Profile and proceeding to the Set Pricing page.
How do I get paid for my CoachOut sessions?+
In order to be paid for the sessions you complete, visit the Sessions tab of your dashboard and click "mark complete" next to each completed session. This lets us know that the session has taken place.
After each session is marked complete, CoachOut will issue a direct payment (BACS) to your chosen bank account, a safe and secure option.
You can expect to receive your payment approximately 3-4 business days after you mark a session complete. CoachOut automatically issues payments 48 hours after each session is marked complete and the funds will usually show in your account approximately one business day from when the payment is issued (the time may vary depending on your bank).
How do I set up direct payments?+
To set up your direct payment information, go to the Payments tab on your CoachOut dashboard and click the link to edit your payment settings.
Do I need to report my CoachOut earnings on my tax return?+
The short answer is, "Yes, you do need to report your income." However, tax documentation will only be provided by CoachOut under certain circumstances.
Your yearly earnings summary is accessible at all times in the “Payments” tab of your dashboard. Please consult a tax professional or consultant for advice about your tax status and reporting requirements. For more information, please visit the HMRC website.
